James 1:1-27

2 ¶ My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; My^G3450 brethren^G80 it^G2233 all^G3956 joy^G5479 when^G3752 fall^G4045 divers^G4164 temptations^G3986

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Knowing^G1097 that^G3754 trying^G1383 your^G5216 faith^G4102 worketh^G2716 patience^G5281

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. But^G1161 let^G2192 patience^G5281 have^G2192 perfect^G5046 work^G2041 that^G2443 be^G5600 perfect^G5046 and^G2532 entire^G3648 wanting^G3007 nothing^G1722 nothing^G3367

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. any^G1536 you^G5216 lack^G3007 wisdom^G4678 ask^G154 of^G3844 God^G2316 giveth^G1325 all^G3956 liberally^G574 and^G2532 upbraideth^G3679 not^G3361 and^G2532 given^G1325 him^G846

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. minded^G1374 man^G435 unstable^G182 in^G1722 all^G3956 his^G846 ways^G3598

9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: Let^G2744 brother^G80 degree^G5011 rejoice^G2744 in^G1722 he^G846 exalted^G5311

10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. But^G1161 rich^G4145 in^G1722 he^G846 low^G5014 because^G3754 as^G5613 flower^G438 grass^G5528 away^G3928

11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 ¶ Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: Let^G3004 man^G3367 say^G3004 tempted^G3985 tempted^G3985 of^G575 God^G2316 for^G1063 God^G2316 tempted^G551 tempted^G2076 evil^G2556 neither^G1161 tempteth^G3985 he^G846 he^G3985 man^G3762

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. will^G1014 he^G616 us^G2248 word^G3056 truth^G225 that^G1519 we^G2248 be^G1511 kind^G5100 firstfruits^G536 his^G846 creatures^G2938

19 ¶ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: Wherefore^G5620 my^G3450 beloved^G27 brethren^G80 let^G2077 every^G3956 man^G444 be^G2077 swift^G5036 to^G1519 hear^G191 slow^G1021 to^G1519 speak^G2980 slow^G1021 to^G1519 wrath^G3709

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. For^G1063 wrath^G3709 man^G435 worketh^G2716 not^G3756 righteousness^G1343 God^G2316

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. But^G1161 ye^G1096 doers^G4163 word^G3056 and^G2532 not^G3361 hearers^G202 only^G3440 deceiving^G3884 selves^G1438

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For^G3754 any^G1536 be^G2076 hearer^G202 word^G3056 and^G2532 not^G3756 doer^G4163 he^G3778 like^G1503 man^G435 beholding^G2657 his^G846 natural^G1078 face^G4383 in^G1722 glass^G2072

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. For^G1063 beholdeth^G2657 himself^G1438 and^G2532 way^G565 and^G2532 straightway^G2112 forgetteth^G1950 man^G3697 was^G2258

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
