Common Questions

Straight answers about Lone Trumpet.

A short list of the questions readers have actually asked. If yours is not here, write to the editor on the contact page.

Who writes Lone Trumpet?

Lone Trumpet is the work of one man: Pastor Lyvers, ordained in 1995, holder of a Doctor of Divinity, with credentials in pastoral ministry and Christian counseling. There is no staff, no editorial board, and no public-relations desk — one pastor at one keyboard, trying to say one thing plainly. More on the About page.

What does Lone Trumpet believe?

Lone Trumpet stands in the historic Evangelical tradition: the Bible as the inerrant Word of God, salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, the deity and bodily resurrection of Jesus, and the personal return of Christ. The full Statement of Faith — with its scriptural anchors — is published on the Believe page.

Is Lone Trumpet connected to a particular church or denomination?

No. Lone Trumpet is independent. It is not the publication of any congregation, denomination, or organization. Its doctrinal alignment is with historic Evangelical Christianity, not with any single church body.

Why is there no newsletter or email list?

Lone Trumpet does not collect email addresses. The publication will not build a list. Readers who wish to follow the work can subscribe by RSS — a small, private way to receive new articles in a feed reader without sharing any information with us. Plain instructions on how to follow.

Why are there no comments under articles?

A comment section would invite the same shouting that the rest of the internet has plenty of. Lone Trumpet exists to be a quiet voice, not another arena. Readers who want to respond can write to the editor; thoughtful letters may be answered, or quoted in future articles.

Can I reprint or share these articles?

Yes, for non-commercial use, with credit. Photocopy them for your church bulletin. Email them to a friend. Post them to your blog with attribution. Please link back to the original article on lonetrumpet.com. For commercial reprints, please write to the editor first.

Do you accept donations?

No. Lone Trumpet is not a non-profit, takes no donations, and runs no fundraising. The work is given freely — for as long as the Lord allows it. The only thanks asked is a prayer for the work, and for the people it reaches.

How do I contact the editor?

Use the contact form. Every letter is read. Not every letter is answered, but every one is read, and many shape future articles.

Why does the site take strong positions on the public square?

The Christian faith is not a private hobby. It speaks to every corner of life — the home, the church, and the public square. Where Scripture is plain on a matter, Lone Trumpet is plain in turn. Sharp on the matters; kind to the people. The publication is uncompromising on the gospel and tender as our Savior toward every soul who is yet to hear it.

Are the free tools really free?

Yes. The software offered on the Free Tools page costs nothing, asks for no accounts, sends no telemetry, and shows no advertising. Download, install on your own server or device, and own it. They are simply gifts.
