Grief is love with nowhere to go, and Scripture treats it with great tenderness. Jesus Himself wept at a graveside, so no tear of yours is foolish to Him. The Bible does not rush mourners; it sits with them, and then it slowly lifts their eyes toward a morning when sorrow ends. These passages have kept company with many at bedsides and gravesides.

Psalms 34:18
