Bible Verses About Pride

King James Version · 16 passages

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Scripture is relentless on this point: God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. These passages trace pride from its first whisper — the heart that says it needs no one — to its certain end, and they commend the lowliness that God has promised to lift up.
