Salvation is God's rescue of sinners through His Son. It is not earned by good behavior or religious effort; it is received by faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again. Scripture says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. These passages set out that good news plainly, in God's own words.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, love: or, pity 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; abundantly: Gr. richly 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: power: or, the right, or, privilege
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. wounded: or, tormented stripes: Heb. bruise 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. laid...: Heb. made the iniquity of us all to meet on him
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
